Privacy & how votes are stored

topcandyshortsxxx.com has no user accounts, no comments and no newsletter. The only thing that needs data is voting, and we keep that to the minimum that stops one person from voting a thousand times.

The voting cookie

The first time your browser loads the ladder, our server sets a cookie called tpv. It holds a random string and nothing else: no name, no email, no tracking ID shared with anyone. It lets us recognise that a vote for a series today came from the same browser as an earlier one. It lasts one year, and you can delete it at any time from your browser settings (you will just be able to vote again as a “new” browser, within the network limits below).

What a stored vote contains

• the series and the kind of vote (up, down or podium);
• the date and time;
• a one-way hash of the tpv value;
• a one-way hash of your IP address combined with a secret salt and the current date.

Your IP address is never stored as such. Because the date is part of the second hash, the same network produces a different value every day, so votes from different days cannot be tied together. Hashes cannot be turned back into the original values.

The 18+ answer

Clicking “Yes, enter” on the age bar writes tp-18 into this browser’s local storage, which is why the bar does not reappear. Nothing about it is sent to us.

Request logs

Our hosting records each request in a technical log (page address, time, IP address, browser type). We open it when something breaks or someone hammers the site, and it is never shared or sold.

No trackers, no third parties

There is no analytics, no advertising and no social media code on this site. Fonts, images and videos load from this domain.

Every play button points to candy.ai and ends with via and fp_sid: referral codes naming this leaderboard as the source of the click, not you. Once there, you are under Candy’s own privacy policy.
